APPROACH
Using a structured design process, I focused on creating a user-friendly healthcare app that makes it easy for users of any age to book medical appointments, schedule medical exams, and access other health-related features.
PRODUCT
One Life (Vida Única in Portuguese) is a healthcare app designed to simplify health management for everyday use. It helps users efficiently manage their health by providing easy access to booking medical appointments, scheduling exams, and other essential healthcare features.
PROBLEM
Stakeholders initially believed that users would understand the app's features without difficulty. However, usability tests revealed that most users overlooked important instructions, such as registering their health insurance card, which is crucial for accessing their health data.
UNDERSTANDING USER NEEDS
Validation and Testing: We validated the app prototypes with real users and conducted usability tests using Axure RP. The app was tested with 11 different users during field research.
User Feedback: Collected data and feedback from these usability tests highlighted that users often missed critical instructions, impacting their overall experience.
OUTCOME:
Prototype Validation: The testing phase provided valuable insights into user behavior and common pain points.
Usability Improvements: Based on user feedback, we made significant improvements to the app's user experience, ensuring important instructions were more noticeable and easier to follow.
Enhanced User Experience: The refined app design better met the needs of users, making health management more intuitive and accessible.
By validating prototypes with real users and incorporating their feedback, we successfully improved the One Life healthcare app, enhancing the overall user experience and making health management simpler for everyone.
